The Popularity Of the Army is 88 Percent, How Much is the Public’s Trust in Politicians?

ISLAMABAD: According to a survey conducted by Gallup in July, the popularity of the army was the highest in Pakistan compared to all other institutions at 88 percent.

The survey, conducted by Gallup Pakistan for a political organization, found that the public has 56 percent trust in the media and the judiciary.

According to the Gallup survey report, Pakistani people have only 39% trust in politicians, 47% in Parliament, 42% in the Election Commission, and 54% in the police.

According to the survey, if we look at the popularity of politicians, the popularity of chairman PTI is 60 percent, while the popularity of both Saad Rizvi and Parvez Elahi is 38 percent.

Apart from this, the popularity of Shah Mahmood Qureshi was 37%, Nawaz Sharif 36%, Shehbaz Sharif 35%, Maryam Nawaz 30%, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and others was 28%.

In the survey, the question was asked if the National Assembly elections are held next week, which party will you vote for? It was reported that in Punjab 41% will vote for PTI, 28% for PMLN, 4% for PPP, 6% for TLP.

According to the survey, 35 percent of Sindh respondents will vote for PPP if elections are held next week. The vote bank of Sindh People’s Party remains intact. People’s Party also enjoys support in Balochistan.

In response to a question about the military’s role in politics, 32 percent said the military should have a major role, 32 percent approved of some role, and 5 percent did not answer the question.

Interestingly, 43% of PMLN voters believe that the army should play a bigger role in the country’s politics, while 26% of PTI and PPP voters share the same opinion.
